Kitchen cutlery should always be washed by hand with dish soap and water. Even if a knife is advertised as being dishwasher safe, we still recommend you hand wash it to avoid damaging both the knife and the rest of your dishes. Ideally, knives should be stored in a knife block. This keeps them both safe and within easy reach. If you must store them in a drawer, lay them flat with the handles all pointing the same direction. As a best practice, you should always keep your knives sharp. Dull knives can actually cause more injuries than sharp ones. The harder you have to work to cut something, the greater the chance that you'll slip and possibly injure yourself.
