About Tree Ornaments
The tradition is attributed to 16th century Germany, when churchgoers would decorate an evergreen with apples to represent the Paradise Tree during the holidays. Over the next few centuries, pine trees found their way into homes across Europe and the colonized world. Initial ornaments were made from breads, pastries and florals, but later evolved into an artisan industry. Today, trees are bedecked in ornaments carved from wood, hand-blown from glass or spun from wool among other variations.

The Beekman BoysAbout the Guest
Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Brent Ridge, former New York City professionals, founded Beekman 1802 after leaving the Big Apple to purchase the 19th century Beekman family farm in Sharon Springs, New York. Josh and Brent discovered the charm of Sharon Springs when also taking ownership of the Mercantile which was originally started by William Beekman. They rebuilt the Mercantile in his legacy and are so excited to bring items right from the shelves to Evine Neighbors.
