A beautiful addition to your kitchen, nonstick cookware can perform for years if cared for properly.
Before using your new cookware for the first time, wash with hot soapy water, rinse well, then dry thoroughly. To ensure quality nonstick performance from the beginning, it is recommended to condition your pan by lightly coating the surface with cooking oil, heating it, then wiping it clean.
After use, it is essential to allow your cookware to cool completely before washing. Immersing a hot pan in cooler water can permanently ruin it. Wash your nonstick cookware with hot soapy water using only a dish detergent made for hand washing. A washcloth, sponge or nylon scrubber will work best. Never use stiff brushes, steel wool or scouring pads as these will scratch the surface. Do not use harsh cleaners with bleach, abrasive cleansers, or other chemicals on nonstick surfaces.
Any food residue or grease will eventually cook into the cookware surface and cause carbonization, resulting in food sticking. Since this residue is often hard to see, it is important to thoroughly wash cookware, sometimes even washing it twice if it has been used heavily. You can also try boiling a mixture of water and vinegar if you have a hard time removing stubborn stuck-on food. After you have rinsed each piece, thoroughly dry and store.
It is typically recommended to store cookware on a hanging pot rack with plenty of room between pieces. However, if you do not have a hanging rack, you can safely store your cookware in a cabinet with a soft cloth between each piece. Avoid the nonstick surface coming in contact with bare metal, as this can scratch and damage your cookware.
