"I painted Pacific Nocturne on the occasion of my second wedding anniversary, when Nanette and I re-visited our honeymoon hideaway. The romantic seascape displays my growing passion for capturing effects of light. Surf bursts in an explosion of brilliant light against the massive coastal rock. The luminous translucence of the aqua wave shimmers with an internal fire. Sand gleams golden through the liquid skin of the sea. For many years, Pacific Nocturne hung in my own home as a private treasure - a radiant memory of my early years of marriage. Now, for the first time, I share it with my collectors."
- Artist Thomas Kinkade.
Pacific Nocturne was released in 2004 and is the first piece in the Archive Collection II. In these early paintings that comprise the Archive Collection II, Thom began to probe the secrets of pigment, color, and luminous lighting; to learn what it means to be a Painter of Light. The coastline depicted in Pacific Nocturne is based on the Northern California area of Mendocino, the location of Thom and Nanette's honeymoon. Framed in a beautiful wooden frame, the back of the print is finished with craft paper and has a wire hanger attached so it comes ready to hang. Certificate of Authenticity is included, and it also certifies that the piece is hand-signed by Thomas Kinkade.
