"In Emerald Valley I paint an ideal vision of the land of my fathers: Ireland. God's heavenly light pours from the skies on to the "auld sod" - lighting a landscape so verdantly green that it suggests the bounty of nature unspoiled. "Emerald Valley" is a timeless village scene. Here dirt farmers haul fresh hay; grannies tend the children, while mothers battle the housework. Rocks are ripped from the earth to build roads and fences. The stone bridge heralds this rustic heritage. Waterways fill the valleys, making for a dramatic play of light between lakes and sky."
- Artist Thomas Kinkade
- Emerald Isle Cottage: This was released in March of 1994 and is Sold Out in Limited Edition. The backdrop of this painting is Ireland. To Thom, Ireland means "tradition and stability - charming customs, love of family, a faith as enduring as the austerely beautiful island itself" so the scene as a "land rooted in the early, but touched by a heavenly light." The cottage has a rural road along with a weathered stone fence. Regarding the fence, Thom remarked that it "seemed to have no destination" and that it is "as intriguing and as mysterious as destiny itself."
- Emerald Valley: Thomas Kinkade painted this image and we released it in November 2008. Thom painted 15 "N's" in Emerald Valley in loving tribute for his wife Nanette. The village featured in Emerald Valley extends along a ribbon of stone roads that seem to crisscross everywhere in Ireland. The waterways fill the valleys making for a constant play between the light of sky and the reflection in the lakes and streams below. Thom's family heralds from Ireland. In his first visit to Britain, he had the chance to visit Ireland and was amazed by its beauty. He used the memories from that first trip to help recreate the imaginary rustic village featured in Emerald Valley.
