Pink and pearls: the epitome of femininity. Anna wears a classically styled ball gown but details such as the cross over bodice, gathered back and deep sash give it a contemporary twist. In shades of dusky pink, the dress is full skirted and falls to the floor over a matching tiered petticoat.

The figurines in the Pretty Lady Collection are the archetype of Royal Doulton, and although they are traditional in concept, contemporary fashion trends are often revealed by the choice of hairstyle, the sweep of the skirt and the cut of the neckline. Neil Faulkner has an established reputation as a Royal Doulton designer, his careful observation of women and his sensitive interpretations of the way they stand and move, combined with his appreciation of fashion design, is revealed in every study he creates.

Figurines and sculptural items may be washed by hand, using warm water and a mild liquid detergent applied with a soft, damp cloth. On items with intricate details and small-sculpted parts such as hand-sculpted flowers, it is best to use a small, soft make-up brush instead of a cloth. Do not use abrasive materials or powders for cleaning. Do not submerge the product or get water inside the hole(s) in the base. Dry the larger, open areas with a soft cloth. Allow intricate or delicate details to air dry. Be sure the item is completely dry before returning to display area.
