Spring Hill Nurseries 10-Piece Show-Stopping Tall Phlox Mix Collection

There is no experience more wonderful and satisfying than going out into the garden and cutting dozens of your own fresh flowers to bring into the home. Although there are a lot of perennial plants that are excellent for cutting for flower arrangements the backbone of most cutting gardens is tall Phlox.

The Tall Phlox mix in this offer will provide glorious color and scent from early August through fall. If you do not want a pure cutting garden you can spot this glorious mix throughout the garden or even plant as one unit that can be easily enlarged in full to part sun in any well-drained garden soil from zones 4 to 8. Phlox paniculata is known as garden phlox, summer phlox, perennial phlox, or autumn phlox. It is a delight to all gardeners because it has a long bloom season. The Breeders Mix contains wide mix of solid and bi-colors, representing some of the best of the modern hybrids.

1) Dig a hole twice as wide and twice as deep as the bare root division received.

2) Carefully spread the dormant bare-roots out in their planting holes. Refill with soil mixture.

3) Firm the soil around the plant with your fingers.

4) Water well. Requires at least 1" of rain (or equivalent watering) each week.

Do not let plants in pots dry out - especially if they are not in a sheltered spot or not directly planted in the open garden.

Apply at a rate of 5 lbs. Per 100 sq. ft. of garden. It is also for use on seeded plantings. After the seeds have emerged, broadcast our General Purpose over the desired area at above rate and incorporate into the soil.

A 2-3" layer of mulch will help conserve moisture and keep beds free of weeds. It will also maintain an even soil temperature.

Keep the area around your plants free of weeds. Weeds compete with all plants for food, water and light. Walk around the garden periodically and pull weeds, including the roots as soon as you see them. Mulch also assists in keeping weeds down.

Remove spent blossoms promptly to promote additional blooming. Pinch off blooms when they are no longer attractive, but take care to leave as much foliage as possible.

Daylilies will multiply over the years. Every 4-6 years you can divide your Daylilies and replant them to make more beds or to share with friends. Spring or early fall is the best time to divide and replant.

Winter-hardy. Requires no special winter care.
