In this image, Thom is showing how strong God can be. Many people find themselves on the dark side of the bridge. As they go further out on the bridge, towards God, it gets lighter. The water symbolizes our lives, going through various obstacles in life. Dogwood is once again represented in the painting. This image is the third in the "Garden of Promise" Collection, and was named Second Runner-up for the Graphic / Lithograph of the year award in 1997, by the National Association of Limited Edition Dealers (NALED). Gel coating is rolled onto the image giving it the "textured" look. The image is framed and applied to a mat-board, then placed inside of another frame - giving it the appearance that image is "floating".
For me, the world is enriched by images of faith. In the Garden of Promise collection, I look for those moments of revelation, of joyous acceptance, that comprise our common spiritual experience. Then I look out into the world to find visual images that reflect the truths of my walk with God."
