60 years ago, Miroslav Havel, designer of some of Waterford's most iconic patterns including Lismore, reached back to Georgian times to capture the romance, charm and magic of the Emerald Isle as inspiration for Colleen, a beloved Waterford Crystal pattern that continues to transcend the test of time. In 2013, Waterford Crystal will celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Colleen, honoring this legendary cut pattern with special commemorative crystal creations including limited edition pieces from the designers at the House of Waterford Crystal.

The name Colleen, from the Irish cailin, is one of the most traditional and beautiful names for an Irish girl. With superb olive and deep caro cutting, Colleen began as a suite of stemware, and has literally grown up over the last 60 years. In celebration of the first sixty years of Colleen, the House of Waterford Crystal designers have created a series of spectacular hand cut masterpieces, some showcasing some of the most intricate and difficult crystal cutting techniques on a single piece is a tremendous undertaking of craftsmanship, which is most aptly appreciate on personal appraisal.
